not to mention the bug that doesnt seem to allow me to have my forward and backwards keys on different controlers (mouse and keyboard) so im forced to use the middle mousewheel button to move backwards since i use the right mouse button to go forward. its quite awkward...

That's an easy one to fix. Set the key you want to use as "backward" in the SECONDARY slot for backward. It'll take it there and keep it.

nice... it worked! thanks

the game blows, just like all EA games. i remember overclockin my rig, and tryin to run bf1. It lagged so bad... and i could prime it all night and have no probs.

Junk man.. i have decided to never buy another EA game unless it is for my xbox...

BF1 with DC is one of the best games made. Perfectly stable, enjoyable. BF2 for a v1.0 release is exceptionally stable and bug free for me. I'd recommend doing a clean install before bitching about it. Make sure you install today's nvidia drivers (with a clean install of xp) then see how it goes.

What are you smoking? No one should have to reinstall an OS, change drivers, and otherwise jump through hoops to get a game going.

EA's QA is just sh*t. That's about the whole story.
I blame nvidia and microsoft before I blame EA. A clean install reflects thier craptastic OS and drivers ability to muck things up. If the game works on a clean install, well, then the game is fine.

No, EA products DO suck.
Everyone else knows it. It's a fact :p

Bugs in the retail release of an EA game? You're kidding, right? ;)

I think the first bug he encountered was buying an EA game :(

Its ridiculous that they are allowed to release games with such bugs. If a processor or even something like a cup or a toaster had even 1 or 2 minor defects, they'd be scrapped or sold off cheap as damaged goods.

Maybe we should demand that EA games only cost £10 because they are badly damaged upon purchase.

Or, maybe we can complain to EA to get a better compiler. Yeesh. Sims2+U reports using 700MB memory, and BF2 almost requires 2gigs (see video forum)?

I just found another bug. I use a Logitech MX1000 mouse and occasionally even when my fingers are off the trigger button it would shoot by itself and sometimes unload a full clip. I would have to press the button for it to stop. Also when I'm shooting an enemy my view is alter by itself as if I just jerked the mouse around. I usually end up looking at the sky before I relize what just happened. And finally, the MX1000 has a little button on the side that allows you to switch applications. It would switch applications by itself when I am in the heat of battle...even though I never touched it. Must be a driver issue. Hopefully EA has a fix in the works for this. Has anyone encounter these or any other issues with their Logitech MX1000 mouse?

I've only got an mx510 which has the application switch button too. I don't use logitech's driver's so my application switch button doesn't do anything, but I prefer the stability of the plain old microsoft mouse drivers. I've never had a problem with the mouse moving unexpectedly or a button clicking unexpectedly.

and why wouldnt they?
this game is VERY hardware and memory intensive.. more than any game on the market yet..

your system better be in tip top condition to run it...

and being a desktop tech most household systems are spyware infested, bloatware infested, outdated driver having piles of sh!t...
most users dont know how to take care of a PC..

my problems will all be gone once i had another gig of mem to my system.

EA's QA is just sh*t. That's about the whole story.

Fixed your post.

Gotta love it when people blame bugs on the people who PUBLISH the game rather than the people who DEVELOP the game. I know its all hip and cool to rag on EA now a days, but If you are going to bitch then at least bitch to the ones responsible, Dice. EA did not make this game.

didn't EA buy dice? so wouldn't that make dice an EA company?

regardless, the end game comes from EA. if it's not up to spec, why the hell are they putting it on shelves?

edit: i guess i'm thinking of someone else, looking at dice's website i see no mention of them being owned by EA.

No, EA was trying to buy Dice but the Dice shareholders declined. The end game is made by Dice, and they are responsible.

Stop try to push the blame for in game bugs on anyone other than the guys who made the game. Ok, if there were distribution problems and the EB near you couldn't get the game then fine, that is EA's fault. This isn't.
