I got it, tried it a bit and seems like fun. Considering a movie will cost more than $10 for 2hrs, it's not a big deal.

They could have put the booster pack out in a download format that fileshack, filefront, and whatever other download service could use. Then implement checking the username (PID) for BF2 to validate you can use the game. That would have been much simpler than this downloader that is at full capacity and won't let you download anything.

Oh, and 10 buck, I would spend more than that at the movies. This is worth more to me than seeing a bad summer flic at the theater.

they added 6 vehicles and 3 maps and want to charge for it!!!!! you're the reason these idiots are still releasing these ****** games!!!! $10 for that little bit of crap!?!?! come on. that should be free!

Nothing's free.

not from EA anyway.

I guess since more and more people are (stupidly) willingly paying for such small crap, that they will continue to do it. i remember when game companies would release new maps and stuff for their games for FREE. they didn't charge $10 for 6 new vehicles and 3 maps. That shouldn't cost mroe than $5 and even thats too much imo. i'm sure it took them a real long time to reskin some vehicles and make 3 maps.

Im with that guy, screw paying for 6 new vehicles. Noones even listed what they were!! How they compare with eachother or the original?? Whys it worth $10?!? "It was fun" dosent justify it, losta things are fun AND free.

Man ya'll are some cheapo bastages... time to stop working at taco bell guys and get a job that pays more than 4 bucks an hour..

Bah, I just hate how the # of Special Forces servers keeps dwindling. Long live CQB/urban maps!

And that's why I bought/am downloading right now.

Excellent expansion pack. Seems a lot more balanced than the SF or EF. Go check out what people are saying on the BF2 forums who actually have it before passing it off as just another stupid expansion.

First off $10 isn't the same anywhere. You probably live in NY or NJ where you get paid more and you spend more. There is not way I'd spend $10 for lunch. I eat for less than $3 where I live (Atlanta) and eat well.

I don't care if they want to charge for expansion my problem is I already paid for the game and now there are servers that kick me off when a new map comes up. The game doesn't say you have to buy expansions to continue to get what you paid for. that's deceptive business tactics.

Of course I found a different server (which is possible but I didn't get told I would have to when I first bought the game so it's BS) but progressively less people are playing on these servers which is my real complaint. They are splitting up the community. When SF came out alot of people stopped playing vanilla so I bought SF to continue to play with my friends. Now there are 2 more x-packs and I have to keep buying stuff to play with everyone. If they released an x-pack that added guns to the game or a graphics upgrade or something fine by me, the problem is dividing the community again and again and kicking people off servers because they don't pay you more money.

If they one day said "pay us $10 or you will be locked out of a server for 2 rounds every other map change" they would be taken to court. Instead they are saying "pay us $10 or you will be locked out of a server for 2 rounds every other map change....oh and if you pay we'll toss in some extra graphics". It's 1 step from extorsion to me.

you peeps can easily play bf2 @ 1280x1024 with 1GB of ram....2GB is not necessary unless you run all the eye candy, put a couple down to medium, you can't see the difference and save the $$$ on the ram.....

i'm confused. u have a link in your profile that shows exactly why BF2 needs more than 1GB of ram... I'm betting u wrote that "guide" too.

Then please continue to bag your own lunch, and dont play the game if you cant afford it. They are out to make money, get over it.

BTW, i am very curious to hear what you eat (and eat well for that matter) for less than $3.....

i'm not complaining because i can't afford it, i'm complaining because the principle of it. new vehicles (which are most likely reskinned models of existing vehicles) and 3 maps is NOT WORTH $10. give me 10 brand new vehicle, several new guns, 10 or more maps, and then maybe its worh it. how about adding some more fvcking game types than that stupid conquer or whatever its called?

lazy8s has a good point too (one that i hadn't thought of).

no one forced you to buy bf2, and no one's forcing u to buy AF. if u don't like it, don't buy it.

That was what I decided to do actually (not buy AF).

My own personal gripe is what expansions do to those that don't buy them. It fragments the online community and reduces the value of the item you already purchased. BF1942 was terrible about this. I mean who the hell wants "supar secret weapons" expansion? Well someone does. And once they buy it, 20% of the servers will only work for you if you do the same. Annoying.

Once the same treadmill started with BF2 I quit. Fun game, don't get me wrong, I just don't want to start on that treadmill again.

This is a great point, i bought all of the expansions for bf1942, all of them. Rather costly (compared to the expansions being 10$ this week) , but what really chapped my ass was after a month the servers and people who were once in them went down to VERY small numbers and most of the servers were very far away leaving horrid pings for me.

It was for this reason i was reluctant to get SF, except that you could use the weapons in normal BF2. I did buy it, i dont regret it, but i think when they create these other expansions that leave out these other people and dont merge weapons (or even vehicles), its a mistake. The fact that its 10$ makes it a little tempting for me though....

I personaly dont feel the need to buy it, how great can it be, i bought SF for the unlocks mostly but i dont play it as much, i think its cause of lack of community plus im still trying to master BF2 vanilla.

960MB is less than 1GB...

and the newer patches require a little bit less, even the sf pack

Unfortunetly there's many people with major issues with the game. For me it's the "Verifying Client Data" bug where I spend more time waiting for the game to load than actually playing it.

wait, that's a bug? I thought everyone waits quite a bit for it to load. Well, obviously, a faster computer helps, heh.

I have a huge issue, I bought the game, have to use a different id, and my stats don't carry over from the original one. And the real problem is I can't play the damn game. It crashes every single time I play AF, once the map loads, I crash to desktop. So dissapointed. I really wanted to play this. And I don't think there's a way to reinstall AF, just have to uninstall BF2, Special Forces and then reload everything. What a bunch of crap.

That's strange, you may have got a bad AF d/l, just install everything again and you will be fine. You can reinstall AF, if you want to burn it to a CD, look in

I just wish there was furious armor in the expansion....

I mean I want large maps and armor for everyone. I don't want to see anyone as infantry.

A 32 man server. 16 people on each side. 13 in armor of some sort. 2 helicopters and 1 plane. Or even better. ALL 16 in tanks and apc's!. Get to a map some guys hop out of the APC and secure the area as Anti Tank.

I wish it was like that....
