So I see they released another expansion pack for BF2. Adds 6 vehicles and 3 maps.

i can't get to the EA site to see because it seems to be taking a sh!t, but how much are they trying to charge for this?

finally got through.
they want $9.99 for 6 vehicles and 3 maps! lol. and people keep buying this sh!t. amazing.

I bought Euro Force and thought the maps were unbalanced because of all the armor that spawned at every location. When EA says they're releasing something called "Armored Fury" I shutter. :p

Seriously... are these maps as nasty as EF?

WTF? So AF and EF are all about armor?

Well thanks for letting me know to completely avoid that garbage. Thank god for Special Forces and infantry combat at least.

Sorry I don't prefer infantry. Since Armored fury is about armor (more like desert combat) I will try to get in that long food line that EA calls a downloader. Man that is a piece of garbage. They could have put the booster pack out in a download format that fileshack, filefront, and whatever other download service could use. Then implement checking the username (PID) for BF2 to validate you can use the game. That would have been much simpler than this downloader that is at full capacity and won't let you download anything.

Oh, and 10 buck, I would spend more than that at the movies. This is worth more to me than seeing a bad summer flic at the theater.

EA said they took special considerations for ground troops and made sure they provided two routes, strategic cover for infantry, and areas ground troops can access. Also, the maps are on US soil, which would be cool to see.

AF >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> EF.

on another note, EF has more armor, and is more of a "armored fury" fights than AF.

The maps are actually very good. The new heli's pretty cool. It's a mobile recon (or, mobile UAV, heh). new JETS RULE. Ya, they're more cumbersome, but the awesomeness/funness of dogfighting and bombing from bf1942 is back!!!

Is it locked at version 1.3?

Also what East coast servers do you guys usually use? I've been using the EA US servers but they're not 1.3 yet and also ECGN servers. Any other options for non-clan operated servers?

Well damnit... you nubs talked me into it. So far I've played the Alaska map and it's pretty damn good. Wish SF or EF had this type of quality.

Pretty cool that you can drive the US "hotrod" car around. LOL.

I just got done playing my first round of AF. Seems to be worth it to me. I guess though somehow I am so addicted that the bugs don't bother me. I just upgraded to 2gb right before firing it up and that made a lot of difference for the first couple of seconds of each round (and various random points throughout the match) of extreme choppiness... The whole round was smooth. That was probably my previous biggest complaint with the game.

Why should it or anything else be free?
they have a team that worked on this they need to get paid..
I swear 10 bucks isnt even a lunch at Mcdonalds these days...
get over it people work for a living need to get paid for thier work..

you want something free.. fine start a mod team and make maps and vehciles yourself

Yay!

Another thing to make even fewer people play the original!!! My dollar becomes more and more wasted every release. Maybe I should buy some add ons?? Riiiiiight...so those become wasted dollars too.

They should either give free add ons, or release a new game. This crap is annoying.

Nothing's free.

not from EA anyway.

I guess since more and more people are (stupidly) willingly paying for such small crap, that they will continue to do it. i remember when game companies would release new maps and stuff for their games for FREE. they didn't charge $10 for 6 new vehicles and 3 maps. That shouldn't cost mroe than $5 and even thats too much imo. i'm sure it took them a real long time to reskin some vehicles and make 3 maps.
