BF1942 lamers (demo)

I spent the last 20 mins playing the BF1942 demo. It's a team game. Allied vs. Axis. The Axis has a carrier with airplanes. Sometimes you have to spawn on the carrier because all of the control areas are captured by the other team. I ended up on the carrier with about 5 other "teammates." They were throwing grenades and shooting everyone. I ran away and went to drive the carrier hoping I could get away from those stupid idiots. Some dumbass followed me and started blasting away. I finally committed suicide and waited until I could spawn somewhere else. I ended down at the end of the island where the airfield is. By then our team had taken that control point. There they were again, killing each other to get on those stupid planes. Yes, planes are fun to fly in BF1942, but it's a stinking TEAM game. You don't get points for killing your own teammates.

What a total bunch of *&^%$#@!)

 
Yeah, I hate when people do that...most of them who fight for the planes can't even fly them and are not a great help to the team.
 
It IS a fun game, as long as you are not fighting your own teammates. It's actually quite brilliant.

There are so many ways to fight and to die. I like laying down some mines and watching some sap drive over them, or using the x pack to blow up some sucker hiding in a bunker. I even knifed a guy one time. I also got knifed myself the other day.

The bazooka is hard for me to use. I always miss, or I may hit a tank and by the time I reload I'm blown all to hell. I like the AA guns, too. They are fun. I usually get shot down by AA when flying. lol The whole game is amazing. You can even parachute out of your crippled plane. It's really cool.

 
I bought it after playing the single player demo. I like the single player portion of the game, and I've never played it online. Kinda weird!
 
Ya, that bugs me to. Also bugs me when half the team is waiting for planes. Go out and fight damit!!!


We need a AT clan.....then we can organize battle. So lame when everybody is doing there own thing.
 
What bugs me is the damn frame rate on my lappy. Now I do have the latest ATI video in it, and I score about 7000 on the madonion benchmarks. I also have played several games with similar requirements. Have it down to 640x480x16 just to make it work. Is it a driver issue? WTF?
 
I have 98% of Enigma downloaded, its a wwII navy online game. You can pilot ships or subs, all online and looks pretty nice. I will let you know later, since it's all downloaded now...

We tried getting an AT Clan, but we were too organized for our own good /sarcasm

If you want a group of people to play with, check out Arsclan. I'm over there as MurderDeathKill.
 
The game is kinda fun but it runs like crap. Espically the full version. My bro has a p4 2.4 and geforce 3 ti. All the settings are on the lowest possible and it still runs poorly. Some of its the lag but still.... that game needs a major overhaul.

I had a similar setup when the game first came out and I had no problems running the game.
 
I'm excited about the 1.3 Patch to be released soon. It'll will offer clients as well as servers a whole new host of options to punish TKers. Should improve the game quite a bit!

It runs fine on my P4 2.0A with an ATi Radeon 7500, running at 1024x768 with everything turned on besides FSAA. The netcode for the game is quite, bad through.

Hmm.. I got an XP2100+ w/GeForce 4 Ti4600. Runs just great will all the settings on high... 😕
 
What server do you guys play on?
A ATOT meet might be fun. 🙂 We could get adopt some empty EA server ... there are more than 10 currently open, with good pings for ME (~200ms).

I installed Desert Combat and have been playing that lately. There is a server here in Atlanta called, "#1 Atlanta Marauder's Desert Ba..." that I play on. It's a 64-player server!
 
People waiting for planes and stupid snipers totally bother me.

It's ok to have a few snipers but when you are playing an assault map like Omaha Beach, you don't need 50% snipers. I hate those morons!
 
Its fun to play as a sniper on a map like Omaha beach and tag people in the face before they even get off those little landing boats..

Ok. I meant as the allies. I hate it when you take a German base and 1/2 the morons just stand around trying to snipe while the other half is getting slaughtered by all the Germans wanting to retake the base.
 
the games supposed to be a resource hog right?

anyway, isn't playing w/ bunch o 'depried teenagers w/ on real lives' online a blast? i heard BF1942 can be super good w/ good teammates, but i dont' knwo if i want to drop whatever for the game and the exp pack just to play leader of the lame teens.. i'm prob just being cynical tho..
