BF1942 - How do I look left and right in plane cockpit?

The game default settings seemed to have one of my joystick buttons set up to turn my head one direction...right I think. Because of this I'm thinking it's possible to look right and left inside cockpit. I'd like to bind these to my hat buton on joystick...but can't figure out which setting to change. Any help much appreciated.

OK...I learned about mouselook...but I don't want to have to grab my mouse while I'm flying. Is there a way to bind left hat to looking left and right hat to looking right. For me forward hat is viewing inside and rear hat is forward chase cam which lets you see who's on your six.

heh if you find the answer to this one let me know.
For those of you that do fly with your mouse and didn't know... hold in shift while you're flying and you can pan your head around in the cockpit.

I fly with joystick though, guess I'm SOL
