bf1942 desert combat problem

i can play instant battle games with desert combat fine, but when i try online multiplayer games, it never works. i connect to the server fine, but when the game loads (the bar gets full), the program just closes. is this a known bug? any way i can fix it?

[edit: now whenever i try to launch bf1942 it stays minimized and won't open no matter what i do. this is pissing me off. ideas?]

it might be a bug but try to reinstall also. i'm having a similar problem with the loading up screen minimizing before and after a games. i have to keep clicking on the tab to maximize it but once the game loads it's fine. i probably have to reinstall mine also.

I had same problem. Make sure you have latest patch. When the server I played updated before I did, this is what happened. Updating fixed this.

That's what happens when you don't have the same version as the server.

i realized i installed an old .5l version. should i update with the .6 patch or get the full .7 download?

Get the full Desert Combat 0.7 and patch BF1942 to version 1.6. Everybody's using that now.
