Gosh, that's a tough call.

It's pretty easy for me. Natalie Portman has a great face but the body of a 13yr old girl. Not really into Mila Kunis much cus she has an annoying voice but she's much better.

Black Swan was horrible. I can't believe it has such terrible reviews. I talked to a few people that have seen it, and they all said, "I didn't really get it... but it was good!" The art house cred it brings to wide release makes people think it must be some high brow masterpiece beyond their comprehension, but it's not. It's just predictable, poorly paced crap. Could anyone pick out a crescendo in the movie? Nope, it was constantly tension from the beginning with no discernible change in pace or pressure.

I can't wait to see True Grit.

Wait, where the fuck did you come from?

Just came back from watching it. Holy shit, it was like watching a movie with a first person shooter style footage. I was dizzy as hell going into the first 10 minutes of the movie. If you enjoy Duke Nukem, Rainbow Six, Halo, Need for Speed, you will surely like this movie. As for the movie itself, it was pretty predictable, and it tries to convey the madness in her head by turning those scenes into a horror flick. Then the scene at the club with Tom and Jerry just made me think, "WTF, how did they managed to stuff Twilight into this scene?!"

Personally if I had a stab wound and a piece of glass in my stomach, dancing on stage would hurt like hell...

Oh and they didn't have the A/C on, so by the end of it, I felt like throwing up.

Overall, the best part about this whole movie was watching the preview for The Adjustment Bureau. FTW!

How can you attack the pacing? That's one of the films greatest strengths.

My wife thought Black Swan was going to be like that other ballet movie, Center Stage. She also thought Vanilla Sky was a romance film.

We had to hop into the next theater to cleanse her visual pallet with Tangled.

Black Swan would be considered a chick flick in the same way that Transformers would be considered classic cinema.

Did she not bother to look at the trailers?

Exactly. He dumbed that shit down, did he not?

The Wrestler is actually my favorite of his, easily...but it certainly isn't what many would expect to be typical of his style.

Nothing dumb about them; just very different.

For instance, I think The Fountain is quite "dumb," while others are all gay for it. :\

i didn't mean they were "dumb"... i'm just saying they were watered-down... not nearly as abstract as his usual work.

i'm saying that he dumbed it down for the general public to appreciate.

perhaps.... less "abrasive" is more accurate. 😀

both are great. i agree that BS will improve your chances of getting laid, though.

Black Swan WILL NOT improve your chances of getting laid! It's not a chick flick at all!!! It's almost like a horror film. I had to hide my eyes in my boyfriends shoulder throughout the whole movie and when it was over I was so sick from the screen shaking that all I wanted to do is curl up in bed as sleep.

now that i've seen both movies, i can say that they are both extremely overrated movies.

true grit was just flat out boring for most of the movie with an extremely anti-climatic ending.

black swan was just kind of like 'wtf?' throughout the whole thing.

i will say though, i think black swan kept me more interested than true grit did because it had some mysterious elements to it. and it was filmed really well.

I don't get it being labeled as a "horror" film. Psychological thriller sure, but not a horror film at all. I thought it was a great movie in any case.
