BF Vietnam

This was the first online game I played - so I loved it!
I always wondered why they didn't carry the awesome soundtrack over into BF2. And music into vehicles!!! I used to play The Beach Boys! And I loved the beautiful lush tropic environments! Pretty!
Also, if I remember corectly, the vehicle explosions were more realistic.

I had it, didn't play it much, although flying the jets was fun as hell, first game with guided missiles for me (outside of flight sims)

I loved that game too. I had some good times on the Ho Chi Minh trail!

remember at release the railgun m60s? That was horrible, but after they nerfed them the game was so good.

The Phantom (?) was awsome, napalm!!!
I got really liked the attack Huey with the shark mouth. That thing was awsome!
I remember the M60s! Everything was nutty, but I only remember enjoying everything about the game.
Remember that shovel you carried around and had to plant as a spawn point? Nuts!
And that map with the bridge spawn. I used to rush over and set up artillary right at the mouth, and often go a whole game with no one getting any flags! Fun fun fun till daddy takes the T-bird away!

i loved BFV. especially the tunnel kit. radio kicked ass too, although it made the game unstable at first.

never understood why people thought BFV was crap. it was to 1942 what 2142 was to BF2. both undeserving of their bad press.

I played it for awhile but never really met anyone else that did. SO it kind of fell onthe wayside. Best part for me in that game was flying the helicopters. I did pick up BF2142 and enjoyed the sci-fi setting a lot more.

Most fun ever! Whenever I have friends over, we always play it. Don't know why people didn't like it, the soundtracks were great too. Although I never learned how to fly...

Ya, its funny about the bottle necks, half the game was bottle necks, but that was what made it so fun too. If you could figure out an angle, you could do super well in the game, to the point it was hillarious!
And it was just georgous. Flying cargo in a chopper over the jungle, or driving a jeep by huts on the beach.
I guess no one plays this anymore? I have the disks sitting behind me, untouched since 2005!

Did they ever fix the issue with players being able to scale back the graphics to give them an advantage when it came to seeing players with their graphics turned way up?

I played this for a bit, it was pretty cool for a BF spinoff type of situation. I loved the music.

I loved the city maps where the lady on the PA speakers would do a tokyo rose thing and talk to the GIs

yes, that propaganda shit right?

i just got the whole bf collectors pack back from my friend tonight. can anyone who still has this installed or actively plays tell me how hard it is to find a server?

Played it for years until BF2 came out. Many memories of lifting off in the chopper with Grace Slick's voice booming from the loudspeakers...
