Giddyup...looking forward to this one! I know it is not that much different than BF1942...basically a more polished product....but I have no problem with that...I love BF1942/DC.

oooh, gonna have to go and get that when it comes out, looks like an awesome game. I can't get over bf 1942, though I have only played the actual game a few times, desert combat is my cup o' tea.

EB Games is slow on that announcement. EA made the gone gold announcement on or before March 4th.
Can't wait.
5 days, 22 hours, 45 minutes until release.

Sure it would be. Isn't it using the same graphics engine as B1942? My machine is a little under yours horsepower-wise, but it runs B1942 just fine, with most graphics effects enabled. I have no worries about B:V.

This is not using the same graphics engine as BF1942...you should be ok with a 9600XT though..

The Linux server is already out...

UT2004 and BF: Vietnam on the same day!

D'oh!! Just double-checked on that, and you're right - DICE wrote a new graphics engine for this one. Cripes - hope my system can keep up!

UT2004 and BF: Vietnam on the same day!

:D Now all I need is a sale!! It's against my religion to pay full price.

Mine's supposed to come in at the local Gamestop on tuesday, but I'll be back home in vegas for spring break, and they can't transfer it down there. :( I'll have to wait an extra week.

:(:(:(

I wasn't really psyched for this game until about a month ago. That's when BF42 really seemed to start getting old for me. everyone on the BF42 servers I play on knows all the maps/tactics like the back of their hand, and it's getting repetitive. I can't wait for BF:V. Hopefully EA learned from BF42 and got it right the first time, so there's no need for 6-7 patches before the game works right.

You are worried about your 9700 Pro? Come on!

I think he's just bragging.
I, on the other hand, really do have to worry. I hope it is at least playable on my GF3 Ti200. At least playable enough to get me by until I can convince the wife that it really is a good idea to spend $200 on a new video card.

FYI, it's an updated engine and the recommended specs have gone up.

Not sure, but I think the following is accurate:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the FAQ over at PBF(planet battlefield):

Minimum:
933 Mhz CPU
Directx 9.0b
3D accelerated GeForce3 64 MB or equivalent DirectX9 compatible videocard
256 Megabytes of RAM
2 GB free hard drive space
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
DirectX 9.0b installation)
16x CD-ROM drive
Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard

Recommended:
1.2 Ghz CPU
Directx 9.0b
3D accelerated GeForce3 64 MB or equivalent DirectX9 compatible videocard
512 Megabytes of RAM
2 GB free hard drive space
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
DirectX 9.0b installation)
16x CD-ROM drive
Directx 9.0b Compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard

Recommended for optimum performance:
2.0 Ghz CPU
Directx 9.0b
Geforce 4 128 MB (Not MX) or equivalent DirectX9 compatible videocard
512 Megabytes of RAM
2 GB free hard drive space
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
