I think you save more money by not shopping on black friday. The cheapest thing to buy is nothing.

This is a good post for a new poster in ATOT! Who were you before you were banned?

I've never seen any rediculously good deals versus stuff that pops up in ATHD all the time.

internet shopping ftw.

I'm going to sleep in on Friday. I don't care if some laptop is supposedly a hot deal. I can save lots of money by sleeping and not spending it. 😛

Depends on the deals. My wife went out a couple of years ago and scored a couple of nice deals. She didn't go out last year because there weren't any. But, she's planning on going out this year because there are a couple of nice deals.

You decide how to spend (or waste) your time. I have learned to peruse the thanksgiving paper, ID what I want/need and get to the store at a time of my choosing, not at 6:00 in the morning. If the item(s) I came to the store for are sold out I move on ... it just wasn't meant to be.

BF cna be an insane event if you make it so.

Aren't most of those deals on low end crappy stuff anyways? like a no name dvd player for $20. That's why I don't think it's worth losing sleep over it.

Most years I go hiking on BF. There are fewer people on the trails. I have to work this year so I'll be ablwe to get more work done with so many folks out of the office. Going shopping? Ick, that's like getting anywhere near a stadium on game days - crowds of disease carrying zombies.

It's just not worth it. Standing out in the wee hours of the morning in the freezing cold hoping to grab some cheap item before they're all gone, fighting tons of other people, spending forever to find a (not a good one just any) parking space at the mall. Screw that, it's a month away to Christmas/chanukkah/kwanza/whatever gift giving holiday you celebrate after that. I'll just shop on the internet. Delivered to my door with no hassles and no hours spent at the mall.
