My bf is going out of town for a few days. And my life seems to revolve around him, so basically I have nothing to do. Does anyone else get depressed when their significant others leave for an extended period of time? Is this a dependancy thing?

It is good to be devoted to you SO, but to have your life revolve around them is not good.

It is good to be devoted to you SO, but to have your life revolve around them is not good.

Yeah, I have friends but they all live hours away. I guess I will just stay home and play EQ2 for 3 days.

Yes, you are seriously penus whipped. I'm curious what this "extended period of time" amounts to? 2 days, a week, a month. Thats pretty much the most important piece of information and you didn't even include it.

If its 2 days, seek help
If its a week, its understandable but you'll survive
If its a month, then your concern's are understandable.

i have been married 16 years, its no big deal.
my wife visited her sister to help with a new baby in january . she was gone for 13 days, no problem. we even did the dishes and laundry , well at least some of the dishes/laundry. the house wasn't really any dirtier when she got back than when she left, overall

i don't travel often for business in my current position, usually just a few trips of 2-5 days a year, no big deal

Four weeks until my GF and I part ways until the end of July. She can't stop saying how much she's gonna miss me... I can't stop thinking about how nice it'll be to not have to reciprocate 20 "I love you's" every day. I just want to sit around in my underwear and play video games damnit!

I should probably seek help in the form of a hobby of some type. It just gets lonely, and he is taking the dog with him. So he is leaving me with the 2 anti-social cats.

Well, faithfulness aside, when you don't see the relationsihp as being long term (say parting ways when I get my BS) and you think she'd just about kill herself if you left her... ya, it can be kind of a burden.
