BF 2 headphones

I got one for 5 bucks shipped in some hot deals forum. it works well.

so basically... almost anything should do

I use Sennheiser HD570 headphones and either a Zalman clip on mic or a Labtec desk mic depending on which of my computers I'm playing on. (The headphones go with me, but the mic stays... which of my computers I am using is highly dependent on whether or not my fiance is using one.)

While we're on the subject. I do not use the mic/headset (don't want to disturb anyone in the house) but how come I can't hear anyone chatting while in game?

You can only hear members of your squad. Join a squad first.

at least thats the way I understand it. I havn't joined any chatty squads yet though.

As a squad member you can only talk to your squad. As squad leader you can talk to your squad or your commander. As commander you can talk to your squad leaders.

As long as the chat stays to ingame stuff being in a chatty squad is great. A squad leader that uses VOIP to issue instructions is way more effective than someone either trying to type out instructions or leaving the decisions up to his squad members. For example a squad leader could say, I want my support and AT on that roof, I want the medic with me on this roof, I want you two to head to the flag directly south of us and let me know what's there. How long would something like that take to type out? Longer than saying it and since your squadies don't have to read typed instructions they can spend the time looking for enemies.

I use the Sony branded one for PS2; not too bad but I haven't joined any chatty squads yet either. I think it was only $30.

Keep in mind, I've found a direct correlation between too much chat on VOIP and dying. In other words, if you talk too much, you're gonna eat lead.

I use a usb headphone mic combination. The Logitech 350 model. Works well.

I have this headset and its pretty cool because of vibration, called Audio FX.
But kinda heavy and vibration seems to be kinda lower now after few month's of use or its just me or my windows settings...
