Regardless of headshots, takes a ridiculous amount of hits otherwise to bring someone down. Even with the sniper rifle.

You have to stand still for like 3 seconds before you fire.. it's not like CS unfortunately where you need a slight pause. Oh well. Also aim for the head or it takes 2 shots to kill.

i was laying down, put the crosshairs on the guy, and i must have hit him like 5 or 6 times... when i missed there was a puff of dirt.

and the thing doesn't zoom in far enough. i've gotten plenty of practice headshotting in CoD

Sweet, but I don't like how loose and laggy the air craft movement is. Have to move my mouse 10 feet just to get the nose up 2 mm even at 300 knots some times.

Still playing with input settings.

I HATE how it's reversed...

Down is up and up is down.... ARG!

the same problem with the original battlefield, think you had to edit some ini file to add that in

1280 x 960 is actually the correct 4:3 ratio... Don't know why the fvck 1280x1024 even exists.

No resolution limits that I've encountered. running 1600x1200 85 hrz on 75.90 drivers. Display caps out at 2048x1536.

If you are res limited check your monitor ini file and make sure it's not some generic PnP monitor or something.

Still am not sure what UAV is and what the flashing yellow icon is with the picture of the plane. And how do you destroy enemy artillery? I shot them 4x with anti-tank missles.

So many questions!

UAV = predator drones to reveal the map. You have to be a commander (look for a second tab when choosing job)

Destroy arty with C4 (special forces)

I've kinda mastered level flight and circling, but the level is too small for the fighters.

Sick of being threatened with being shot down in the red zone and no being able to get out in the .0007 seconds they give you.

Battlefield 2 only supports 4:3 resolution, the 3D images (the stuff you shoot at and with) will scale and fit perfect however everything else 2D images will look streched.

I am playing on 16:10 and it doesn't look that bad at all.

You have to be special forces to destroy Artillery. Use C4.

It's fun! :D

I spent the last 3 hours just trying to figure out how to fly the damn helicopter and jets thoughs :|

wow, three hours? took me 5-7 tries.....

Well, to roughly master it. Considering I've never played any type of BattleField game before. As in going from 200kph in a helicoptor to landing on the crane.

Just regular flying around the map I had after around 7 dives into the ocean.

The USMC sniper rifle takes two hits (chest) or one hit (head) to kill.

The dragunov SVD doesn't appear to do jack shit. Always takes me around 6 hits to take a guy down.

Is there a zoom key for the sniper rifle?

Id like to know this as well.

No. No zoom.

how do you call in artillery?

You have to be a commander. Use your secondary comm (default t). You'll get options to call in artillery (assuming it hasn't been destroyed) as well as drop supplies.

You can always invert the mouse.

Yeah, the jet movement really sucks.

You can't get off the ground at 300 knots though. It takes around 600+ to get off. :)

Use your afterburners (default left shift) if you need to)

Anyone know how to add bots to LAN game?

I would like to know this as well. I don't think you can, but it'd be AWESOME if you could.

Well, i got BF2 to go in widescreen... you need to go into the properties of the shortcut, and add this:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2 Demo\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200

* changing the 1920 and 1200 to whatever resolution you want

Anyone get wierd lighting/shadow effects. Like a whole square of land is "shadowed" when looking a certain way or at a person. Only happens sometimes.. Running a 6600GT at 1024x768 2xAA all on high.

Use the drivers provided, they should fix shadow problems on nvidia cards.

I take it you have never owned a lcd monitor :p

for alot of lcd's 1240x1024 is the native resolution, practicly all 17" and 19" screen and windows detects resolutions supported by the lcd automaticly

So

And no, the aspect ratio is NOT wrong, since the monitor is physically at that 5:4 ratio.

Can the OP edit the post with a link to the download? That would help a bit for those of us who are too lazy to sift through 20 pages ;).
