yeah, I bit the bullet and upgraded. I dont' have HDTV nor multiple tuners at this time, but I do like the overlapping recording functionality. figured I'll buy another tuner in the near future, so having unlimited tuner licenses will be nice.
 
You can use this to stream stuff over the internet too can't you? You can watch TV from anywhere providing you have an internet connection.

But to answer your question, its a step in the direction of turning your computer into a TiVo.
