Ok, I know some of you will be WTF? about this, but it's really very cool for the right situations.

I've had this for a couple of weeks now and it does a lot of things, and does them very well. Believe it or not, we keep ours on the corner of the dining room table as we couldn't see our living room tv in our new house. It really does everything it says it will do, cable tv, built-in DVD/CD/MP3-CD's, FM radio with on screen controls. Even cooler is the fact that it has a built in web browser. You have to see it for yourself, really.

This is a discontinued item, so I'm not sure what to expect for support. I do know that other places online that sell them are still charging $1500-$1800 for it, so this is a steal.

FYI, if you have a Walmart in your state (doesn't everybody?) you will get charged sales tax, if applicable. The nice thing is that you can also return it at a Walmart store if you decide you don't like it.

Wow, seems like a neat little product. I don't have a cable tv connection in my kitchen though. Can anyone suggest a way to stream video via the WiFi + browser? I have BeyondTV, but I don't think I can install Beyond Link onto this, or any other software for that matter. TIA.

I don't think that BeyondTV is any relation to this company. Unfortunatly, you can't install any kind of software on this thing either. It's really just meant for a standard cable tv connection, although you might be able to get away with using one of those wireless audio/video senders. I think that would defeat the whole purpose of this though. With the built in tuner, it works great.

On the surface, $500 may seem like a lot, but look around and price out LCD Tv's that have built in DVD players, and this is right in line pricewise. Add in the fact that it's also a FM radio (a feature that is extremely rare on any lcd tv) plus a web browser (with the proper connection, either ethernet or a wireless card - not included) and it's a cool little unit.

You guys! It is true that if you have the bread maker, you can use the Icebox to control it. I don't think you can connect to either one remotely though! I know that if you have both and the SANI card, the breadmaker will update itself over the Icebox's internet connection. By update, I mean the breadmaker can scan the barcode of breadmix boxes and will know what it is, and it will download new products as they become available.

Its like a funny looking iMac with ruggedized components! Its kinda cute, but 12" screen seems like it'd be too small for me. One things for certain, some people lost a ton of money bringing these to market. I'm certain these would make GREAT hacking projects.

It's powered by a Geode CPU sc3200. That might not be any more powerful than the processor in the bread machine.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Normally, this is the kind of thing hackers would be all over. Unfortunately, the high original price put most people off. Now that they are being cleared out, perhaps someone might be more willing to give it a shot.
