I am a neewbie at computer building and i stupidly skimped on the psu.. it was a cheapo 400 wat rosewill powersupply.. i am almost certain that it burned out my motherboard...i think it burned out the 4 pin atx connector on my msi platinum nforce 4 ultra mb... all the other components in the comp come on except the comp wotn post... the d bracket diagnostic tool said that the proccessor was bad or installed improperly so got new proccessor not the problem.. so i am getting a new mb and a new psu... i was thinking about this one from
aspire Psu
any feedback would be great ....thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about the fried mobo.

I'd stick with Enermax or Fortron. THIS is the one I wish I had purchased. But I can't complain really, the Enermax is a nice unit that is very strong & steady. I just think Fortron is more value for the money.

EDIT: If you feel the LEDs etc. Look at the Fortron Blue Storm.

you know this is kinda making me think twice.... i just put my computer together not too long ago and when i bought my case (aspire x-navigator) it came with a 500w aspire psu. would you guys HONESTLY and TRUELY recommend getting a different psu? If so i was thinking about the OCZ powerstream or the Forton. I would like a sleeved psu. maybe UV reactive to go with my black lights ;)

the only reason why i'm still using this psu is because it has 34amps on the 12v rail and i thought it to be a good psu.

what do you guys think??

thanks, ayman

If the voltages are steady, it wil probably be okay. If you go ahead and OC, that might change though.

It cost me about $200 to figure out Antec was the way to go. There are other good PSUs out there but my TP 430 is still cranking strong after 2 years so I can't complain.
