uuhh.. seems that i post a lot of threads here. heheh...

i'm planning to buy a new RAM. Is DDR is FAR better than usual SDRAM? because i read that DDR is only 10-15% faster than a PC-133 SDRAM....

I'd go with DDR. Try getting some of the faster stuff too (like Corsair's PC2700), so when DDR 333 mobos come out you can still use it.

the only problem with DDR is that it is more expensive and a little harder to find.

EDIT: nevermind...i was thinking of RDRAM

Can your motherboard take DDR, or are you buying a new motherboard as well? DDR SDRAM does not fit in the same slots as SDR SDRAM, so if you are buying more RAM for your current motherboard, but what it will take. If you are buying a new motherboard, then I would definitely suggest going with DDR and PC2700 should be a consideration.

another ECS user here. I'm temporarily using 192MB of PC100 (yes, thast right) mixed with PC133 on XP1700 and had not experience any slow down at all. i dont game, though. my friend is doing pc133 on thunderbird 1400 and sees nothing to warrant an upgrade
