ok, i'm not into great things this time..
which is better: Creative SB 128 PCI, Yamaha YMF-744 or Trident 4Dwave?
and does it work in winXP? or, maybe anyone have better suggestion?
I dunt want an onboard this time....
 
IMHO this would be a better option. It doesn't specifically say for XP. I'm sure others on these forums have used it under XP and could advise.

XP drivers right here.
 
I just rec'd the Creative SB PCI16 from Newegg for $21 delivered.
It does everything I need. I believe both the PCI16 and 128 PCI
have XP drivers at the Creative web site..........

OEM SB Live's don't seem to be that much ($20-25 and even cheaper from FS/FT) either. Or an Aureal Quad (although there are still some driver kinks with this one).
