What do ya think?

I liked the songs made during sammys run...

How bout you?

My faves are the first few albums, so Diamond Dave. "Women and Children First," "Running With the Devil," "Aint Talkin' Bout Love" etc. etc.

I did like Sammy's cover of "Whiter Shade of Pale" when he teamed up with Neil Schon of Journey though.

David is one big p*ssy crybaby. I'm going to say Sammy Hagar.

You had to be there when they were in their prime. VH was just an incredible band and act back then. Van Hagar never held a candle to that.

Dave all the way....too bad he's such a pain in the ass for the other band members :|

Van Hagar sucked....and that other guy, who was he? The guy from Extreme? eccchhhh.....

I can't stand David's whining neither could Eddie that?s why he got the boot.
But I'm still a Van Halen fan I have 1984 to OU812.

I'll take Dreams.

Funny, I've always thought their best stuff was pre-1984. 😛

VH
VHII
Women and Children First
Fair Warning
Diver Down

Yes DLR was a whiner but Eddie was a HUGE drunk and you know what a pain in the ass a drunk can be.

I bet the whole band were whiners and egomantics.

Of course I don't really care, the music just has to be good becuase I don't live with them and the first albums rocked. Sammy Hagar was a better solo act.

Favorite albums:

VH
VH 2
Women and Children First
Fair Warning

DLR was by far the better entertainer, probably one of the best there's ever been before he self-destructed. Sammy Hagar was a better fit in terms of personality with the other members of the group.

Damn straight. Back in 1978, everything else on the radio was the Bee Gees, Olivia Newton John, Styx, Billy Joel, and Anne Murray. Getting to hear Van Halen or the Sex Pistols was like getting released from musical hell.

I feel for you I was 6 years old in '78. I was listening to freaking Kenny Rogers (my mom's fault). I wasn't allowed to listen to early Van Halan.

This explains a LOT. 😛 😉

Well, there was Queen and Ted Nugent, too. 😀 Cat Scratch Fever was just out in '77 🙂 Then, Double Live Gonzo in 78 😀

Thank God I had a brother and with taste in music. I was able to hear some Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, AC/DC, Black Sabbath.

You should have put some Alice Cooper on the 8-track for her 😉

Diamond Dave was the best frontman in history. Nobody else even comes close. Even most other frontmen will tell you that.

Sammy was and is great. His voice is much better than Dave's, but in his prime, Dave was untouchable.

I'm going to see the Sammy Hagar/David Lee Roth tour in August, and hope both of them kick ass. From what I hear, Dave's voice is pretty much shot, and he's lost his scream, so Sammy is ruling.
We'll see on August 6.

Dave all the way.

I was a big Hagar fan until he took a very good band into the ground.

<-----Saw Sammy when he was with Montrose(he didn't know how to play guitar back then)

I think Van Halen with DLR is much better, but I think SH is much much much better musician than DLR could ever be. 🙂

Sammy & Dave are on tour right now with each other. 🙂

I would have to agree with the others when they say Dave was a better front man.

I'd have to say Sammy Hagar. There's nothing that I liked to do more than either crank For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge or Balance while driving around.
