Better two days off - Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, Monday?

Let's say if you couldn't get Saturday and Sunday off at your job, which of these two day weekends do you think is better? Being off on Friday and Saturday, or being off on Sunday and Monday?

Time to find a new job.

Seriously though, it depends on what you like to do on your time off. Most 'things' happen on a Friday or Saturday...so if that is your thing, then those would be best...of course, that means Sunday may not be so fun...

I'd say Sunday and Monday. Depending on the job Monday is probably going to be the busiest day or day with the most crap going on. So you get to skip that.

On the other hand, if you want to hang out with friends or something and you work Saturday then it limits your options. You can't stay up late Friday night for example.

That's why I picked Sunday and Monday. If you are off those days, you can go out late Satuday night and not have to worry about going to work the next day. Where as if you are off Friday and Saturday, you have to go back to work on a Sunday, which is no fun, IMO.

Fri sat. most shit happens on friday. just before you head home. and your boss is not coming in on Sun.

Depends on your situation. If you have lots of friends that have saturday sunday off hanging out with them Friday night can make your Saturday work day shitty. Also they probably won't want to hang out as much on a Sunday night. OTOH it seems like most people take Friday off compared to Monday so having Monday off would mean less crowds\traffic\etc

Sunday/Monday for the sole reason of the NFL.

Plus I feel like more people are off Friday than Monday as it is now, and I like being off when other people are working in case I have to go somewhere which means less people on the roads.

I used to take my flex day (that's what we call it) on Fridays, but switching it to Mondays was a game changer. I'll never go back. Like some have stated above, the primary benefits to having Monday off:

1. Most other people are at work/school, meaning your errands, appointments, and hobbies feel much less obstructed. Jogging, waiting at the DMV, going to the bank, going out to eat, you name it, the lines and traffic are always lighter.
2. Fridays are usually pretty relaxed at most jobs anyway ("Casual Friday"), so you may as well work it.
3. Nothing beats waking up Monday morning and sipping some hot coffee on the front porch while you watch the masses scurry around. Smug-factor at 9000.

Of course, I'm talking from the perspective of an office job. When I worked sales, Friday and Saturday are when I made the most money, so my answer would change based on that. I have never worked food service, but I would imagine that if you work a tip-based job, those would be the days/nights to work as well.

I had a year of Mondays and Tuesdays and then a year of Thursdays and Fridays off. If you have errands to run and appointments monday is the day to do it. There seems to be less traffic and its a lot easier to get around.

Sundays and Mondays benefit me as an employer on a Tuesday through Monday payroll week. Especially with the new salary law starting in a couple of weeks.

Young person, wants to hang out with friends go to bar etc... Friday Saturday. In my old age now with family and everything else if I HAD to choose between the two it would be Sunday Monday.

Sunday/Monday would be my choice. Sunday is FOOTBALL!
I'd say Sunday and Monday. Depending on the job Monday is probably going to be the busiest day or day with the most crap going on. So you get to skip that.

These. Also, having a weekday off is nice so you can get shit done (running errands). Monday will typically be less people out and about than Friday.

Sunday Monday would be my choice. I mean it depends what you do but Saturday might be a nice slow day at work so why miss out. Plus football on Sunday. Monday is a busier day at work, why not miss out on that fun.

Friday/Saturday would be my choice. Not having to sit in Friday rush hour traffic would be fantastic (if that applies to your commute). The only reason I'd say Sunday/Monday is if you're a big football fan.

Sunday/Monday.
Sunday is football. Holidays are on Monday so you get the day off and a holiday credit.

When i was in my 20's it would be sat/sun but nowadays sun/mon especially during football season....plus it was a slow day on saturdays anyways and mondays are always busy.

Sunday and Monday if you like to do any weekend camping and fishing/hunting/hiking. Sunday night most people are returning home, while Friday night many people are getting a half-day head start and another night of camping.

Friday-Monday off would be my choice. I'd even take the pay cut. Work would be much more enjoyable knowing I only had to put up with it in three day chunks.
