Better off folding in VPC'07 with *nix?

Everyone seems to suggest Vmware, if I use Virtual PC instead is there any difference to ppd?

I am dl'ing Ubuntu 7.10 x64 to see if I can get an increase in ppd.

Anyone use VPC or does everyone just use VMware?

Will Virtual PC give you a 64-bit environment? You must have a 64-bit environment to run the 64-bit kernel, in order to run the SMP client.

edit: thats a no go, when trying to install " you CPU does not support long mode, then something about trying a 32 distro"

thats stupid, why would MS make it so you can install VPC in x64 (seperate dl) but not be able to run x64 os's...
