one of the funniest scenes is the two Japanese brothers who always want to race Lane Myer. one brother doesn't know any English, and the other one learned English by watching Wide World of Sports and talks like Howard Cosell... haha

Had no idea what movie you were talking about until I remembered this. Is this the one where he worked at a diner and played the sax for her?

Yup. That is the movie. :D

This movie is a freaking classic! If you don't have it, add it to your collection along with Office Space.

BTW.. The skiing was filmed at Snowbird in Utah and I HAVE skied the K-12 from the glacier and lived. :) I lived there for a couple of years after high school and know the mountain very well.

What cracks me up is that Lane Myer was skiing down and they were half way down the mountain when Charles Dumar runs over Lane's binding and breaks it. He then gets chased further down the mountain by the paper boy and then somehow ends up at the very top of the mountain to race Roy Stalin. I wish I could do this.. Heh

Oh yeah.. What about that SS camaro that they end up fixing up in the driveway. Heh.. That thing was perfect.

I liked that his little brother Badger sent in UPC codes from the cerial boxes before they were even opened. The dad was picking up the cerial boxes and all the cerial was coming out of the hole where the UPC used to be.

"You'll make a fine little helper. What's your name?" "Charles Dumar".

"French Bred, French Fries and for dessert.. Peru (supposed to be Perrier)."

"It's got raison's in it... You like raisons". As the desert crawls off the plate.

A bit obsessed?

This guy hunted down the Camaro from the movie and had it restored.

Great flick though! I started to watch it last night and fell asleep.

I love Better Off Dead. The worst thing tho is that the DVD is overpriced and under-featured. I don't even think it's an anamorphic transfer.

Tonight we are having FRAUNCH bread, FRAUNCH fries, FRAUNCH dressing, and for dessert, Peru!

EDIT: Damn, too slow on the post. Have to get another quote.

Man, this pure snow! Do you know what the value of this mountain is?

If you go through the website of the guy who restored the Camaro last year the unrestored photos look similar to the when the car was sitting in Lane's driveway under the car cover. As you can see by the site, it takes a little more than screwing on a new air cleaner and putting on lug nuts to restore a car like that. ;)

How about when Ricky's mom is telling Lane's family that Ricky and Monique are speaking the International language...come on you know...LOVE!!

Also when Monique is out throwing the oranges against the stop sign and Lane comes up to her and she says that Ricky is putting his testicles all over here...Lane says...his testicles...she says you know like an octopus...Lane..ooh tenticles...

Man...there are soooooooo many great lines from that movie!!

How bout when he opens his closet and the hangers have a pic of his girlfriend on them...

How bout when his little brother gets the book he ordered from the coupons...How to pick up women!! and then Lane comes home and he has a room full of hot babes!!!

years ago, right after i graduated from high school, i bought a 69 Firebird and completely restored it from ground up. man, that thing was a beauty. metallic burgundy paint with a black vinyl top. right before i sold it, i was playing around with it a bit and had glasspack installed as part of the exhaust system. you could hear the car coming from a mile away. i ended up selling it to a chick who was BEGGING for me to sell it to her.

in some of the OT threads, where you guys talk about how fast you ever drove in a car, i remember replying couple of times. this is the car i did 140 mph in, with no seatbelts.
