Both of the cpu's in question are most likely 512KB Newcastles. I would get the 3000+ and spend the ~50 on a better powersupply, more memory, better video, etc.

i'm going to go with a gig of corsair pc3200, i have a 9800pro, and i won't upgrade till the 6800s or x800s drop in price. i might need a bigger psu, but we'll play that one by ear. i only have a 330W PSU, but that's not that big of a concern. i'm just not sure if the extra 50 bucks is worth it for the extra 200mhz.

how high have ppl gotten on stock?
