Better gaming. Windows ME, FAT32 or XP Pro, NTFS?

Will XP Pro, NTFS give me good results in gaming? Right now i'm running WinME, FAT32. I've heard WinME is better for gaming and you get lower frame rates on XP Pro. Thanks, Kent :)

I've seen it go both ways as far as frame rates, but the difference is usually nominal. What you gain from stability in xp/2k is definitely worth it.

Go for XP Home/Pro or Win2k Pro over any of the Win9x unless you specifically run some old games that can't run under emulation in WinXP. The stability and better multitasking of the 2k/XP series of OSes will make you never want to go back.

NTFS should have little or no impact on gaming performance. It was designed for workstation, it is perfect for handling large files, directories with 1000's of files are more efficient and has more security, compression and encryption capabilities and more.
However, WinXP seems to be better with newer games. I've heard that 9x handles older games better than any other NT variant, but this depends on the game.

This is no longer a germaine question. If your hardware is up to date, you will get more frames per second than you know what to do with nowadays.

Any framerate increase you get with Win9X is not worth the pain of having to use that OS. XP is manageble and better compatibility-wise, but I still prefer Win2K if I need Windows.
