I can't seem to find my other thread, but I'm looking to rename a bunch of files to something that is NTFS compatible. Better File Rename works, but I'm seeing if there's an alternative that would possibly be free, and work on OS X 10.3.

I'm not too keen on script writing. That and I'm not sure what exactly I'd be looking for to ensure I catch everything.

Thanks
Linh

Does Automator exist on 10.3? I use that for batch file renames of videos I have on my system. It isn't quite as good as Better File Rename, but it is certainly free.

I'm pretty sure Automator debuted in 10.4 (Tiger).

Yep. Shame though.
