Better buy Micron or Mushkin Basic?

Looking at two 512x2 chips

Micron PC3200/ 3-3-3

vs.

Mushkin Basic PC3200 2.5-4-4

any thoughts on which one might be the better overclocker? thx

mushkin is very good ram for the price

i have it in my rig right now and its great

Have you looked into Crucial's Ballistix line? It's rather cheap and performs at 2-2-2.

Good ram

Running 512MB of Mushkin Basic & 512MB of GEIL Value in the same machine. No incompatibilities in combination with the GEIL whatsoever (or vice versa) & runs fine @ 2.5-3-3-6 (could possibly go further).

If you were using the Ballistix line, you would have an A64, and thanks to the on-die memory controller, higher quality RAM is a waste. Go with the cheapest, most generic DDR400 you have, and you can get a gig for 150.

Mushkin, if for no other reason, than the have the best warranty warranty/RMA service I have ever had, twice ! (not bad ram, got refurb memory that somebody probably fried at half price, send it to Mushkin and got new memory)
