ah, to share, or not to share, that is the question. FYI, I got the email too. How did I get on it you ask? Well, I signed up during the previous beta test session. How did I find out about that one you ask? Well, from the good folks here at the AT Forums, of course! So, do I deserve special treatment this time just because I was on the mailing list? hmm, lemme think...nope!

You can sit in the corner by yourself, counting your hot deals like a scrooge, or you can join in the fun along with the rest of us here... trying to get in on hot deals when other people find'em, sharing one with everyone when you happen to find one, and of course, the thrill of the chase is almost the best part in itself, and to me it's even better sharing the excitement of the chase with everone here.

So, *you* do what *you* like, but as for me, when I find any hot deals, you'll all be the first to know.

while the beta test is open to everyone it was exculsive to only the people who knew about it before a post is sent here. In theory, everyones odds are shot down each time the link is passed around (LIKE IT OR NOT).
 
Sorry about resurrecting this old thread, but did anyone ever hear from Philips one way or the other on being selected for the beta test? The sign-up page for the beta is still open. I wonder if they aren't getting the demographics that they wanted or something. This Internet Radio looks really cool. My friend at work bought on the the older versions on ebay for about $100.

EDIT: Never mind. "Your application form has been submitted successfully.
We will inform you of the application result by e-mail on or before 22, February, 2002.

ditto here...just checked email and got the notice....did anyone get in on this? i checked over at FW and no one there has gotten in either....this is kinda wierd with al the members between the two boards....unline the war3 beta test where it looked like quiet a few people got in on it....
 
ok, if phillips has a target audience for who they want to sign up anyway, then why does it matter if it's posted here or not? you could give the site out to 10,000 people over 40, and if they're targeting 20-30 age range then NOONE will be selected. I dont think it really matters here guys, but what am i saying, i got the email invite and i still didn't do it before they closed it down, am i pissed? nope, ther'es always next time
 
I'm 0-5 on these Phillips beta tests... so I'll continue to buy Sony, Onkyo, and everything else non Phillips.
 
fishy?--philips has been doing the betatest for awhile now if you dont know.
I in fact was selected and did receive the mp3 stereo a few months ago.
This is a legit contest.
