Beta Client going Mainstream???

When will DNet take the 8014 client off of the beta list and make it the new client? The client was released 3/12/2001.

Quote from Dnet's site:

<< The following clients are PRE-RELEASE clients. In an effort to provide quality clients at release time we will PRE-RELEASE clients for bug checking. These clients are not time restricted and will become release clients in 4 days if no bugs are found. If bugs are found clients will be removed and fixed. Clients will then be placed back in PRE-RELEASE status for another 4 days. >>

I'm assuming the client is ok since it hasn't been pulled off the shelf. Not that I will be switching anytime soon. The 8010 client will be my default client for some time to come.

Well we use the prerelease for beta's as well. Yes i know its not the best situation, but the easiest one to use. If you notice all the clients on there are listed as BETA. We still had open bugzilla issues and that is why they were not released to pre-release.

You will be happy to know, that prerelease versions are coming in the next day or so. Some clients have been uploaded already, but i'm waiting for a few more to come in. The version has been incromented and we are looking at v2.8015.469.

Hope that explains things.

Moose,

Thanks for the quick reply. You've been most helpful since you came to DNet.

P.S. Can I get an early copy of 8015?!? 😉

Maybe a bit OFF Topic in here. 1 question I want to ask.

- What should we expect RC5/ORG rate of P4 and AMD Palominos?

For them to know the values of the Palomino's, they'd have to know what architectual changes were made to Palomino from the T-bird core. Unless they have people in the know who'll tell 'em, potentially breaking NDA's, they won't have a clue.
