Anyone downloading? 10 views!? Demos are fun come on DL! In the last week I have downloaded these demos and played them
Indigo Prophecy, FEAR, Pariah, Vietcong2, AOE3, (downloading Bet on Soldier tomorrow), Dragonshard, and I think there was one more but I cannot think what it was hmmmm

I played it and I like the concept but not quite sure I like the gameplay. The movement and aiming seemed very odd. The 'boss' battles came down to simply rushing them with my most powerful weapon as you don't have enough time for any strategy. I think I'm going to wait for reviews... kind of makes me wish a new mechwarrior would come out instead.

I think you are thinking of the Starship Troopers Demo. From the screensshots, it look pretty good.

Tell me about that one, please?

Bet on Soldier and Starship Troopers both came out recently in demo form. Starship Troopers is completely horrible though, while Bet on Soldier is simply 'ok'.

the overall controls felt rather clunky and rigid to me ... not nearly as fluid as the way UT2K4, HL2 and the like feel; I guess I was hoping for a little more since this was supposed to be using the new Aegia physics middleware -- perhaps I've been spoiled by Havok

The one aspect of gameplay that I thought was pretty neat was having one or two lackeys following you around that you can call to repair your armor and lay down some cheesy cover fire or act as a minor distraction.

Starforce 3 is the only copy protection that has taken people so long to find a crack for (SC:CT just recently got cracked if you dont include the USB CDDRIVE overlook)

I cant fault them for wanting to protect their intellectual property. Go to any popular torrent site and you can find the most recent games for DL. It is difficult enough to survive in the world of PC Gaming. Even EQ2 only sold like half a million subscriptions. There is a reason why we dont often see wonderful games such as Thief: Deadly Shadows or Fallout. This industry is tough.

I completely agree with copy protection, but not on a demo thats made available to the public for free:confused:
