Ever walked into a store like CompUSA or Bestbuy, and watch ppl drool over those PCs in the aisle? Then the worst part comes when they talk to a sales person who tries to sale them a PC that is totally overkill for them?!?! That bothers me so much cuz these innocent ppl are getting ripped off.
I was in the cdr aisle, and this very confused couple were asking this old dude who worked there the difference between a celeron and p4 PC. well, i didn't catch the whole explanation, but he did mention that the p4 was much better (i think he was trying to sell her one of the p4 on display). anyways, her bf/hubby kicks in and asked the difference between an athlon and p4. he asked what the difference was, and the sales person must've given them a run around. the guy said he heard from a friend that the athlon was much faster, and it was cheaper somewhere else than the p4 the salesman was trying to sale them. anyways, the salesperson got annoyed and walked away, and i thought he had him there. then all of a sudden the woman called him back and told the dude she wanted the p4 on display.
now i didn't hear too much cuz i didn't wanna be nosy, but i think they paid too much for the system, when they could've gotten the athlon somewhere else for much cheaper. honestly, i think the p4 was overkill. im sure the only thing they wanted the PC for was to surf, write papers, and maybe games for their kids.
i'm sorry, but these stores really take advantage of customers. it was funny when a salesperson tried to sell me some cdrs, but i told him i found them cheaper some place else. anyways, this bugs me so much, and i am so tempted to go "undercover" and go back and act stupid and ask about PCs. ask the normal questions such as how much RAM i need and how much HD space, and see if he tries to sell me something that is overkill. then out of the blue bust out some PC lingo, that maybe he won't even understand.
god this kills me!!! is it just me or does anyone else feel this way?
