So i logged into BestBuy's rewardzone site yesterday to check on a refund of points from an item i returned a month back. Noticed I had been upgraded to 'RewardZone Premier' which I hadn't heard of before.

Turns out they launched it yesterday and anyone who spent $2500 in a calendar year gets upgraded to Premier for free. Not much has changed (afaik), except for the following;

Reward Zone Program Premier Silver.

Qualify for Premier Silver status when you spend $2,500 on eligible purchases at Best Buy or BestBuy.com in a calendar year. As a Premier Silver member, you'll enjoy all the benefits of regular membership, plus:

* 25% point bonus
* 50% point bonus if you are a Reward Zone program MasterCard cardmember
* Point banking
* Access to the Awards Catalog for unique products and services
* Extended return policy
* Free standard shipping at BestBuy.com
* Dedicated Premier Silver Customer Service Line.
* Complimentary Geek Squad home theater consultation once per year
* Complimentary 6-month trial of Geek Squad Online Data Backup service

For more details about the Reward Zone program, see Program Rules.

Nothing dramatic, but the free shipping is nice as is the extended return policy. Looked a bit deeper and found the following;

Extended Return Policy

Enjoy a 45-day return policy on all in-store purchases made while you are a Premier Silver member. Beginning this fall, enjoy the same 45-day return policy on BestBuy.com purchases.

Now I don't see any mention of the old 14-day for technology items limitation, so if I'm correct that doesn't sound bad at all.

Anyway, I know some of you hate worstbuy but I've been happy our local bestbuy's, never really ran into any trouble. For a local B&M electronic store, its the best around here.

Just a heads up...

Yea i'm kinda surprised i've spent that much, but as the local technology consultant for friends and friends families, I usually end up buying the items for them and they pay me back.

That and we've needed a slew of new tv's recently and BB has the best prices (or can at least match the best prices)

I probably spent that last year @ BB. I jump on a lot of their weekly deals where shit ends up being cheaper then any online store. 25% bonus points would be nice, if you buy everything on sale like I do and hit $2,500 you will make out nicely with points. I'm going to have to attempt to spend some money there this year :)
