Yeah, retail big box stores aren't gonna get you the top notch tech supplies you want...

The equivalent of Best Buy in most of Canada is Future Shop(BB owns FS), and I found the employees surprisingly knowledgeable. I was buying a Canon camera, and the girl could tell me exactly which camera cases would be too large and too small. She knew what she was talking about.

However, I suppose there are some outlets that have a higher turnover rate and employees who aren't as experienced.

So I went to BB today on an assumption that the $90 free ram & install coupon would work. Anywho, I was appaled as I was under the impression that It was Free, as stated.


Hmmm...the coupon I have says "Save instantly on these great computer accessories: Any memory and installation (save $90). The accompanying email says "Choose any memory and installation save $90 instantly (excludes advertised memory)".

Nothing stated about free ram and install.

i can get a gig of ram, Geil Value stuff with decent timings, stylish blue Heatspreads with a Tidy Geil logo to boot for a nice £70 new. whats more its alwasy on offer, so can get it even cheaper than that. and to top it off....it actually is pretty damn good at overclocking

its the same deal with shops like comet and PC world over here...... ram is over priced in the shops
