I hope most of the stores have way more than 12. Otherwise, a lot of people are going to waste a trip to Best Buy. I wish they would restock Wii remotes and nunchuks. My friends have been using mine since release and they really want their own.

This whole "minimum 10 per store" or even 12 is such a load of crap.

These retailers only place these stores in areas that have like 100,000 people within a 2 mile radius so this whole idea of "10 per store" just makes me want to go postal on these jerks. :p

I swear my local gamestop had some wii systems. I don't think it's going to be a big deal trying to get them.

Well, I hardly think a hot item in short supply is any retailers fault. Be mad at Nintendo, but not the retailer.

The walmart here in town is stocked with Wii controllers, remotes, and nunchuks just fyi. It also had 60 Wii's the first day. I don't think it will be much of a problem.

So, Where is the best place to buy the Wii?

I would bet the everyone is gonna have a pretty similar price, but who has the best giveaways (free game included, extra controller, etc...)?

Who has the best return/exchange policy (I sincerely hope there will be no need to return this...)?

Is it worth it for me to order it online? Or is a local retailer just fine?

Thanks for any help!

how, my store was 1 per customer via tickets and by 7:30 there were already 18 people... it was a smaller store... larger stores probably had more, but i doubt enough for 3...

oh well... happy I got one... time for a nap

I could see nintendo making this happen simply due to the Sony rivalry,

I got mine at a Best Buy today! Apparently they had 19 but a bunch were mistakenly put on the shelf and one was sold before they could hide them again. I waited there since 5:30 and the line was full at 6 so I'm damn glad I decided to wait earlier than I originally planned to.

We had a little fiasco with a guy cutting in line a little while before they handed out tickets. He stuck out his hand expecting one when everyone one in line called him out on it and made that ass leave. I'm sure the elderly 60 year old guy that was at the end of the line could have taken him anyways ;).

GameStop workers here in West Houston said they expect to get their next shipment by this coming weekend (Dec 1-2).

I don't think anyone has a free controler or game with the system. The only thing that may come close is Sam's Club and Costco often have bundles that have an extra controler and game for slightly less then if you bought them all seperately. (i.e. you might save $5-$10)
(Also note: Every Wii comes with one Wii-mote controler, 1 nunchuk controler addon, 1 copy of Wii Sports.)

The best bet on returns for dead hardware is Nintendo. Supply is trikkling into stores, making getting a replacement system a real roll of the dice. Best to just call Nintendo directly and have them send you a replacement.

If you can find it online (non-ebay) great!
