I was just gonna go with fvwm2.2, but I cant connect to theyre FTP for some reason, so I thought id ask what everyone thinks if the best. I want to run a WM at work so I dont have the bloat of Gnome or KDE, so suggestions would be welcome. Oh and looks dont matter to me, I just want stability and ease of configuration most.

I was partial to Window-Maker and Enlightenment in the past up untill I tried FluxBox ( BlackBox with some patches and continued development ) and since then I have been hooked ever since!!

blackbox.sourceforge.net probably. Do a search for it on either freshmeat.net or sourceforge.net and see what pops up. BTW, those are the two best places to search for linux software. :)

NorthenLove blackbox is alive and strong, so please stop saying it isnt being actively developped*. ;)

*hell, like it even needs anything else. Its basically perfect ;)

Well it's about time ! Only reason I went to FluxBox was because a few months ago I saw BB development at a dead-end back then, but I guess thats not true anymore. Despite that I'll stick with FB for a bit untill things get back into full swing with BB if you don't mind Noc. :p

I'm going to go against the blackbox majority and put my vote in for windowmaker. It's still small and lightweight (though not as much as bb. It still runs blazin fast on my 686 w/ 32mb ram. The themes out there make it look damn good. It's stable as hell (and in the rare even that something does go awry, it asks you if you want to restart itself), and it includes a configuration util. It's a utopia.

WindowMaker is cool. I tried it temporarily. I liked it, just not as much as bb ;)

<< where can you find blackbox, thanks? >>

tomrizzo, ifyou read my posts carefully you will see good information in between the flames ;)

*search on freshmeat.net and sourceforge.net like you would do to find any linux/unix/bsd software

To add another suggestion, XFCE.
Very lightweight, easy to configure, and remonds me of CDE, giving me the fake impression that my crappy PC is actually a SPARC box, or perhaps even an Alpha :D
