Hi all,

I was going to just bite the bullet and get a 478 northwood 2.8c and chill with that for a bit, then all this other info comes into the mix. I want iit for gaming and video editing and also possible future cpu upgrade. I hear the new E-0 prescotts will be good , but what socket I dunno, new pci express amd's coming out too. errr whats the best choice for some sort of future path. I really would prefer the intel path atm, don't flame please just my choice for this round =)

thanks

what's your budget? AMD is currently superior in everything and has the best longevity compared to intel.

Mobo $95

CPU $212

RAM *2 = $144

Total: $451 + S&H

Intel just isnt as good this time around, i have no idea why anyone would buy intel. well, i see you were naive enough to buy the 1.4 P4 last time, so i can see why you would want P4 again.

The 915 and 925 are chipsets, not a cpus. The new P4 numbering scheme is currently in the 500's for the desktop Prescotts. I believe the highest is the P4 560, which is a 3.6GHz cpu.
