best wireless mouse?

I know.. Logitech puts out such a great product, but their customer support is for crap! I purchased a set of the newer Logitech speakers when they came out with the huge sub (can't remember the model, but it had a Z in it.). I had an annoyance problem with the control pod. The volume control was super stiff, so I called Logitech on their toll line (no toll free lines) and told them about the pod. They told me to package up the entire system and send it to them for repairs. All I needed was the light little control pod. I wasn't about to ship this 50lb.+ package to the west coast for a stiff volume control on the control pod. So, I just told the guy that I'm going to buy another set at a local store, swap pods and return it. I didn't feel bad about it either after the crappy CS I received from Logitech. They should just RMA the part and not the entire freaking thing, especially when it's such a large item. Even if there was a problem with the sub or something, you should just be able to send the part and not the entire system.

I really dont see getting much variance from the mx-700, since it really is the best, and there is really no competition. I have one and it is most definitely better than all the wireless mice i have used, and there have been many.
 
I can tell you, without a doubt, the MX900 is superior to the mx700. I have them both. The MX900 has WAY more range. That might not be important to you though.
 
I know I'll be the dissenting opinion. But after having a MX900 (part of the DiNovo package I had) for 2 weeks, I decided to try the Microsoft Optical Desktop Pro v2 (I really wanted to keep my natural ergo keyboard).

The v2 of the MS wireless mice are nice. VERY smooth and VERY responsive. They feel better in my hand than did the MX900. It doesn't have a recharging base but you can use NiMH if you want and it doesn't take that long to change the batteries. Also, MS is claiming 3-6 month battery life for the v2 products. Hell, I'd be happy with 2 months inbetween charged batteries...

Overall, I think they did it right!!! If you are looking for the straight keyboard variant of it (not the Natural), it is the MS Optical Desktop Elite.

Drivers seem to work better than Logitechs too...
 
I'd say the MX700, but if there's a replacement in the form of the MX900, then you may want to consider it as well. If you do decide on the MX 700, buy the MX700 duo kit.
