Though really the simplest self defense is probably a good knife that is easy to take out of your pocket and open up.

Though, if you live in a city where you have to watch your back all the time, it's time to move. At least that's how I see it. I prefer small quiet cities where murder is not a daily thing.

Because the chemicals are absorbed through all your mucous membranes including your nose, whether you breathe in or not, and your lips, whether your mouth is open or not.

I don't know why, but peper spray sounds like something that would taste good. I'm probably VERY wrong though.
