After using maps.google.com, I can't use any other mapping software. The lag time and user unfriendliness kills me! I want to be able to click and drag the map with ease, not click on the south arrow and wait for it to update, then click west, then oops, north, then west, then ...

Click, hold, drag FTW.

Mapquest has it + sat images w/ road overlay now.

I NEVER trust google maps anymore after being spited by it in the past on several occassions.

It's not uncommon for google maps to give WRONG (i mean totally wrong where a Left should have been a Right) directions, lead me down the wrong side of a one-way street, or just take a longer distance than mapquest.

Plus mapquest always gives you all the direction details in each line such as N,S,E or W on route numbers, and all the exit names so that you have more information on the route incase you miss the turn or if the road exit isn't clearly marked.

Mapquest >> google

Edit: I always tell people who give me google directions to double check them with mapquest and, if they differ, give me the mapquest one.

I've never had a problem with Google directions. In fact, I find them far superior to others. Mapquest always suggested an ass backwards way to the highway from my house. Google suggests the quickest and more direct route, which was the one I normally take.

"well let's hit up yahoo maps to find the doe-pest route,
I pre-fer mapquest, that's a good one too!
Google maps is the best, tru dat, DOUBLE TRU!!!"

From the mouths of Parnell and Samberg.

Hmm, no one uses Microsoft's? It has some cool features. Scratch pad (1st website w/ pushpins), Birds Eye View. Traffic as well.
When you close it go back to the website, it starts where you last left off. I've always found it more reliable than mapquest too. I do use google too.

Another thing that sucks about mapquest is that you can't paste a whole address. Takes too much time to enter the info in each box.

Better UI: Google Maps
Better Directions: MapQuest
Better POI: Yahoo Maps (I just love their categorized POI list on the sidebar)

Google maps has given me longer directions couple of times. Overall, I still find myself using google maps more than anything since the UI is far superior. I use Mapquest and Yahoo Maps just to double check when the place is entirely new otherwise, its just Google Maps.

The thing that I really like about Yahoo maps is the ability to enter for Starting and Ending Location addresses on the Main screen (saves one extra click).
