Best way to write NTFS, vista drives?

I use NTFS-3G, MacFUSE (you need both) on my hack and on my macbook and it works great, with some caveats. Don't bother trying to format drives in NTFS using disk utility, it just doesn't quite work right, and make sure that the NTFS drives are properly ejected/turned off. So, if you are dual booting, and have to hard power down your computer, make sure to boot back into Windows and shut down properly otherwise the disks will not be accessible.

Just to add to this, problems with the above tend to only occur with the ublio releases because of the internal cache having never been written in case of a crash. The stable (non-caching) builds are not nearly as finicky, but then they also are slower because you're not caching.

But it's still good advice to follow, since there are currently no *nix disk integrity tools for NTFS.

ok i guess i will try it, need to do a backup first though. Dont want to corrupt a drive.

It is using a drive on dual boot.

I am 99.9% sure that there is no chance at all that it will corrupt your drive. I don't see how it would.

# NTFS-3G 2009.2.1 Update 1 [stable]
Slower, but minimizes corruption in the event of a system crash

Im still staying away till back up of pictures...

So I had this installed on my partition with iPC the whole time lol. IT works great

But i can't seem to get it work on my retail install. The drives do not mount, and are not shown in disk utility. Anyone know howto fix this/
