Best way to water a narrow and long strip of lawn?

My front lawn is divided by my driveway: the larger portion is easily covered using a "spike" style sprinkler that archs the area.

However, on the other side of the driveway, there's just a narrow strip of lawn that's pie shaped. It's 21' long and 8' wide near the house, tapering down to about 4' at street level.

I don't know of any sprinklers that can hit that mark without a lot of overlap on the driveway and the neighbor's grass. What are my options other than doing what I usually do -- standing out in the hot sun and water that area by hand.

Could I use a soaker hose?

Why are you watering during sunlight? Try night or morning.

Night is bad because it can encourage fungus/disease. Water in the wee hours of the morning so the water has time to soak into the ground just as the sun comes up.

I water either early in the morning or late in the day if doing it by hand. And it's still hot as hell. I'm not going to be the creep that stands in the driveway watering in darkness -- besides, the mosquitoes just love to eat me alive at that time.

I planted a new lawn last year and used a bunch of these to water it:

The water distribution pattern is fully adjustible so with some tweaking you can have the nozzle spray only in area you want. Just set it on one side of the area you want to water and confine the nozzle path to the narrow area you want. You can also change how far the water is sprayed.

Good product IMO, though it does take some patience.

Also, since this is a Gilmour product it is sold at Lowes. Home Depot doesn't carry it.

Does it make like a mist or is it just some single streams that only hit one spot per stream?

I have a long narrow strip of lawn as well that's not doing too good, but it's such a pain to water. Might get me one of these hoses too.

Eventually I want to install a sprinkler system, would be kind of cool. Though winterizing it is what is tricky and at this time of year it would have to be done after each use as it tends to dip below zero at night.

It's very misty (but not vapor-like), perfect for that section of lawn.

..narrow, long, strip of lawn..... giggity

Strip, not landing strip.

Although I suppose that any long, narrow strip of lawn could be considered a landing strip for an appropriately small airplane...

So I guess it depends on how small OP's airplane is.
