I don't really have friends with a vehicle capable of doing so, what would be the cheapest method to do so? It'll only be transported a few miles..

Does anyone know of a van/truck rental place in West LA that's cheap?

I've thrown a box spring and matress on the top of my Durango, used 200ft of twine from Home Depot to tie it down, and drove the back roads home :-D

Find a construction company with a fleet of pick-ups, I'm sure they would help you for a little cash on the side.

Home Depot rents trucks?

Sometimes they restrict it to only those who bought from them.
