Best Way To Test For Dead/Stuck Pixels?

Hello folks,

So I've just set up my gaming rig of awesome sauce. However, I'm curious if there is a good way to test whether or not my HP ZR30w has any dead/stuck pixels. I have a feeling it will be painful to try and detect them on a screen w/ a resolution of 2560x1600, but I'd rather find out now so I can send the panel back if there are more than a few.

Any ideas peeps?

I found a good way is to just open paint, color the canvas in a primary color, and then pull it across the screen.
The pulling causes your eyes to follow the window, and thus dead pixels will appear to be moving, relatively to your eye point. Picking up moving dead pixels is much easier than picking up static ones.

Or you do the same with the browser window in that link.

Excellent link.

At that res bad pixels might be hard to see without magnification.

Maybe if you can't see em it don't matter?

Lol I wish. It's the OCD in me that makes it matter! :ninja:

Interesting. I never thought about that, but it seems intuitive given the fact that the human eye is more prone to identifying motion than anything static.
