Best way to stream MP3?

Right now I'm using the Andromeda .asp script over IIS and it works OK, however the trial version has the limitation of only playing every other song, and sometimes the playlists or songs will not load. Are there any freeware/open source alternatives that are the same type of thing? (PHP/ASP scripts that will stream MP3 from a webserver)

Shoutcast works great for me. I listen to my mp3's from home on my work PC all day. You need a winamp plugin and the server software. I later found a web interface that allows you to "request" songs to make playlists and search all of your music - BEST INVENTION EVER.

That is what I liked about Andromeda, it has play on demand and search functionality, in addition to the ability to compile playlists over the web and display folder images. I will try Shoutcast, is it free? And does it support private logins?

Does Shoutcast's DNAS content folder support linked directories or some sort of virtual server?

I don't know anything about shoutcast, but my buddy uses it. I log into his stream all the time and have no complaints of it.
