Received a bottle of champagne as a gift, veuve clicquot for the curious, what is the best way to store this bottle for when I'll have a use for it down the line? Thanks! :wine:

Best place to store a wine is in a wine cellar or a wine fridge, with consistent temperature and a lack of vibration and light. However, if you're planning on storing the bottle for only a little while, it's not going to matter much. Champagne, except for specific vintages, does not benefit from aging like regular wine, and only very good wine benefits from extensive (>5 years) aging.

Champagne isn't the same as wine. You can store champagne just about anywhere but in standard cool temperatures. I'd just put it in the basement in a cabinet or something with the rest of the liquor.

recommends refrigerating champagne for no more than a couple of days. Return it to the somewhat warmer conditions of your wine cellar for longer term storage.

They recommend 45-50 degrees or so.
