Haha, nah... but thanks for the suggestion 🙂

eXcaliberPC ships CPUs in a tray that fits the CPU perfectly so it doesn't require more foam. They then put a roll of bubble wrap around the CPU, box it, and fill the box's remaining space with lots of peanuts.

Sounds good, whats the best way to replicate this? Is it possible?

best way is the way the newegg/zipzoomfly cpu's come. precisely why I save every one I get. 🙂 For $3.85, I can send you one 😉

Just as you would ship a HD, place it in a small box stuffed w/bubble wrap. Then place that box in a larger one and secure the sides.

You seriously don't have any of those fancy little plastic holders? I think I have about 10 sitting here. 🙂

I threw all my old ones out when i moved, and my new Athlon 64 3200+ that arrived yesterday was already pre-installed.

just wrap it in toilet paper and ship it in a bubble envelope!

(heh read about someone on FT/FS b!tching because thats how he got a cpu shiped!)

Last one I shipped I threw in one of those plastic CPU holders, and put that in a bubble envelope. no complaints from receipient.

Antistatic bag/bubble wrap inside a (free) USPS Priority box. It will be fine..but insure it anyways. =)

plastic thingy and bubble wrap are your friend. if not... place foam (black stuff) and rubber band and place in antistatic wrap then bubble wrap.
