Ok, here is what I would like to do. I have the following:

1 Cable Modem
1 Router WRT54G (DD-WRT v24)
1 Dell Power connect 24 port 10/100 (Want to move to gigabit for better internal through put)
2 Desktops
2 Laptop
1 PC with nothing to do
PS3 attached to a 42" LCD

I'd like to be able to store file both locally from the internal network as well as access the network remotely to store files. Along side that I'd also like the same storage location to be able to stream audio/video to my networked machines and PS3 (for movie night).

What is the best possible setup using the preexisting equipment? I tried using WHS Power pack 3 on "PC with nothing to do" loaded with TVersity but still have some issues.

Also if the storage device could also be a "seed" box that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I opened up my NAS box (2008 server) to FTP..simplest method to access my server.

bwanaaa, that's not really what he is looking for, he wants to access HIS files on the server, remotely...not upload them to a third party, and access them.

Use PS3 Media Server for your PS3 streaming needs, it's by far the best IMO.
