Anyone got some experience on the best way to set up the drives? Running An ASUS P2b with two channels. Tried the Hdd and CD Rom with CDRW on second and I get more errors. When I put the HDD by itself and the two CDs on the second channel Nero says I should seperate them, Adaptec will let me burn but its slow. Was wondering about a controller card and put each one seperate.
Thanks for any ideas or helpful hints.

I would think it would be better to put your HD and cdrw on the same IDE and the cd on the secondary.

Don't put the HDD and CDRW on the same IDE channel. You may get buffer underruns if you do, unless you have a BURN-Proof writer like a Plextor. For best all around results, you want the source device (HDD) and recording device (CDRW) on separate IDE channels for fastest data flow. My suggestion is to put the HDD as Primary Master, CDROM as Primary Slave, and CDRW as Secondary Master. That way you can get the best data flow from either the HDD or CDROM to the CDRW. The only performance you sacrifice with this setup is copying from the CDROM to the HDD, but you can always use the CDRW for data copying if it is fast enough for you.
