Hey guys,

I got married not too long ago, and now we are buying a house and the cost of my WRX is just too high for a car that I don't even drive anymore. Becauase of the job and the company car I never get to take it out anymore except for occasionally on weekends.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to the best way to advertise it for sale. Websties, etc. I already sent an ad in to a local trader magazine in my local area.

The car is in absolutely perfect condition, it is a '04 Java black pearl WRX (black with gold flakes) with ony 15,000 miles on it. Bought it in may 2004 and still have the remaining factory warranty.

I wouldn't think it would be too hard to sell a car with this low of mileage and in such great condition. I saw carmax today and they only offered me 17,000 to buy it, and I think that is pretty ridiculous. I was considering selling it for 19,000-19,500.

Anyone have any advice?

Tell you what, sign the title over to me, and I'll pick the car up tomorrow. Then I'll sell it for you, take a modest 1% commission, and send you the rest of the money through paypal. LMK.

buy a smaller house and keep the sweet ride. If there are kids, then you cannot have one. That will be the time that I get rid of mine.

Autotrader and the local newspaper, put a sign in the car and park it where it will get a bunch of exposure.

It already is a pretty small house.. the problem is... in the VA/DC area houses are skyrocketing. I live a decent ways from DC but the people in the NoVA area are retiring/moving to our area and buying up all the property at crazy prices, thus screwing us over.

Do you think it'd be worthwhile to go for a Deluxe ad on Autotrader? ($69)
Or are the cheaper options just as good?

The normal ad should be fine but you want to put it in as many publications as possible, take $200(I know it's hard but your spending $200 to make $2k) and make yourself spend it on advertising, put it in any and everything you can, you want to reach the masses.

Don't forget to wash the car and make it smell real good ;)

Oh the car sits in the garage except for the small trips when I take it out. It still has the new car smell :)

I'm in the market for a WRX, and to be honest with you $17k sounds more than fair for that car (I know that's not what you want to hear). On Nasioc some people got leftover '05 WRX's for $21k OTD, and people are claiming they can get an '06 WRX TR (stripped down version of WRX) for $22.5k OTD.

I just put an ad for my '99 Civic EX in the local paper, today is the second day and i've already received 6 calls. It's a 5-speed, i'd imagine if it were an auto i'd get even more calls. Just make sure you shut your phone off or lower the volume when you go to sleep. I didn't sleep till 2:30am since it was the start of a short vacation for me, some ass called me up at 7am. I'm still pissed.
