Best way to sell a bulk of Magic The Gathering Cards?

Hi! I saw your posting about Magic cards:

I've been a player of "Magi-Crack" the Gathering on-and-off since 1994, and I just went to a pre-release for the newest set two days ago (Planar Chaos).

My advice would be to get a digital photo of each page of these albums and post them up on an internet picture hosting site so that folks here can take a look. That'd probably be a quick way of getting the information out there. You may get a sense right away of what people are interested in. I definitely second the idea of picking up a Scrye or Inquest magazine; while I haven't read either in years, they were generally a good resource for Magic prices. MOTL may be a good resource as well, but I haven't looked at their pricelists. Easiest would probably be to go to your local Waldenbooks/Borders/etc. and grab a copy of Scrye AND Inquest, latest issue. I think that they both still provide a full pricelist for Magic.

I don't know how much reading up you've done since your post went up; the newest looks like last month before Christmas. Please ignore any of the folks who say "XXX is worthless pls send it to me" but you probably got that already. Any card with Mox or Lotus in the title is generally a pretty high $$$ item in Magic card-ology...

*sigh*

The truth about Magic is that some rares are worth a huge amount in the market, while many are worth almost nothing. Some uncommons are worth as much as good rares. Some commons are worth as much as low rares. But, I'd say the vast majority of the cards in the game are just not in demand as singles, to sell at least, as opposed to trading. However, if these binders are chock full of quality rares and uncommons, you may have a hit on your hands. I'd just wonder why the person left them behind.

Just my 0.02 US!

Good luck, and PM if you'd like.

Regards,

SB

didn't rares have a gold border or somethign like that or was that the really old series of cards?haven't looked at my cards in about 8 years

I still have lot's of my cards but sold the exotics like my dual lands and rare foil cards/Type 1 stuff on eBay? if you want to simplify what cards will sell good you can just give any Mox's you have to me, as they are worthless artifacts no one would buy. 😛
