Best way to rent games?

I've started renting games recently to try and play some of the ones that I heard good things about, but wasn't willing to spend $20+ on. Instead of Gamefly, etc I just opted to use my local Blockbuster, but it feels sort of pricey and inefficient. Is there a "best" service?

GameFly is okay as long as you don't mind the (sometimes long) shipping times plus the queuing that will more than likely occur for more popular games. Blockbuster is insanely expensive for only a few days of rental, but if convenience is a priority, it's probably the quickest way to rent a game.

I'd only want to rent the for the weekends really. With Gamefly can I set it up so that I'd get the games in the mail on Fridays? I also don't really care about newer games (or so I say now), just older ones that I missed out on. Like this last weekend I rented Bioshock, and I think I'm going to rent Prince of Persia this weekend. If I can't get games on time for the weekends, Gamefly is sort of worthless to me, but I don't know how their system works.

If you want to rent from Blockbuster, the best thing to do is to start drinking Coke products. You can get a rent one get one free coupon from MyCokeRewards.com.

And, you can hold onto Blockbuster rentals for 12 days before they charge your card.

I'd pay an extra $10-15 a month for the convenience of BB's unlimited rentals dealie, they're just down the street and you can walk in and pick whatever you want whenever you want.
Not that Gamefly is bad, I just like speed and easiness though.

There are a few online rental places here in Canada but they're expensive. The video store I usually go to doesn't have many PS3 games so I go to Rogers Video. It's $6 something for five days. Not too bad. Blockbuster was always too expensive.

You haven't considered the $30 unlimited rentals at BB? If it was $5-8 cheaper, I'd have it already, but even at that price I'm considering it for the winter. Beat two new games a month for $30, that's decent, considering $70 for new ones nowadays.

Here in the US, new XBOX 360 and PS3 games are $59.99, with them oftentimes on sale the first week of release.

I usually rent from Blockbuster, but it's frustrating if you want to rent a new release. If you don't get it the day the game comes out, you might as well wait 3 months (at least around here).

We're getting bent the eff over. Just last year everything was $59 here too, then it went from only Halo/Call of Duty type big games to everything.

Yep. That is definitely the downside to BB. There are still games like Halo Wars that I never see a copy on the shelf ready for rent. Some of the people that sign up the unlimited plan just hold on to these games forever. They'd be better off buying them.
